Housing Task Force
The Housing Task Force will guide recommendations related to the redevelopment of Allegheny Dwellings resident's homes. This Task Force will be chaired by the Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh (HACP), the Allegheny Dwellings Tenant Council (ADTC), and Trek Development. It will also include neighborhood representatives from the Choice footprint and resource partners.

The Housing Task Force will review resident surveys, and come up with recommendations for the Transformation Plan.

Note: This 2 year planning process that will result in the creation of a Transformation Plan. The Transformation Plan will be used to attract funding the implement the plan. In the meantime, there is funding for Early Action Activities. Early Action Activities are special projects residents identify, such as rehabbing a building for a special purpose or turning a vacant lot into a garden.

Keeping residents in place is the goal of this planning process.

There will be no redevelopment until this Choice Neighborhoods Transformation Plan is completed (December 2022) and ALSO funding and sites are secured to move the plan forward.

Choice Neighborhoods focuses on ALL units being replaced on a 1 for 1 basis. The other goal is to build replacement homes first, so residents don't have to move twice. Having a quality plan will help secure funding to make this possible, even though nothing is guaranteed.
